The Highlights…
The Alcúdia Old Town is a beautifully preserved gem that captures the charm and history of Alcúdia. Walking through its cobbled streets feels like stepping back in time.
The Plaça Major, the town’s central square, is the heartbeat of Alcúdia Old Town. Lined with charming cafés and restaurants, it’s perfect for people-watching over a cup of coffee or enjoying a leisurely lunch. On market days, the square comes alive with stalls selling local crafts, fresh produce, and handmade goods, offering an authentic taste of Mallorcan culture.
History buffs will appreciate landmarks like the Roman ruins of Pollentia, located just on the edge of the Old Town, or the impressive city walls, which you can walk along for panoramic views of the town and surrounding countryside.
Despite its historical roots, Alcúdia Old Town feels vibrant and modern in all the right ways. Boutique shops, local galleries, and cozy tapas bars blend seamlessly with the ancient architecture.
Alcúdia Beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, an international certification recognising beaches with excellent water quality, safety, environmental management, and services.
Alcúdia Beach is one of the longest beaches in Mallorca, stretching roughly 3–7 km along the bay, and connects with neighboring beaches such as Playa de Muro.
The beach has fine white sand and at 80 m wide never feels crowded!
The sea slopes very gradually, meaning you can walk far out before the water becomes deep. This makes it particularly popular with families.
Alcúdia Beach is one of the best-equipped beaches on the island, with:
lifeguard towers and rescue boats
sun loungers and parasols
showers and toilets
water sports like paddle boats and parasailing
beach bars and restaurants along the promenade.
The promenade runs alongside much of the beach, making it ideal for walking, cycling, or sunset strolls, with easy access to cafés, shops, and hotels.

What really makes the area shine, is its setting. You’ve got some of Mallorca’s best beaches on your doorstep, like the long, white sands of Playa de Muro and quieter coves such as Mal Pas, perfect for swimming or simply unwinding by crystal-clear water . Nature lovers will also enjoy nearby wetlands like S’Albufera Natural Park, a peaceful spot for walking or birdwatching .
There’s plenty to do beyond relaxing:
Browse the lively twice-weekly market in the old town for local food and crafts
Cycle or hikescenic coastal routes, especially around the La Victoria peninsula
Take a boat trip from the port to hidden coves or even go dolphin spotting
Visit small museums and historic churches tucked within the town.
All in all, Alcúdia offers a great balance — lively but not overwhelming, scenic yet full of things to do. It’s the kind of place where you can be active one day and completely unwind the next, all with that classic Mallorcan sunshine and sea as a backdrop.
