Serra de Tramuntana is a dramatic mountain range stretching along Mallorca’s northwest coast for 90 km, forming one of the island’s most natural and cultural landscapes and earning recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Characterised by rugged limestone peaks, steep cliffs, terraced hillsides, and panoramic views, the range creates a striking contrast to the island’s resorts and is home to some of Mallorca’s most beautiful villages, including Deià, Valldemossa, and Sóller. The area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, offering extensive hiking and cycling routes such as the famous GR221 “Dry Stone Route,” as well as opportunities for rock climbing and scenic drives along winding mountain roads. Visitors can explore olive groves, ancient stone terraces, monasteries, and viewpoints overlooking the Mediterranean, while also enjoying traditional restaurants and small cafés scattered throughout the region. Palma to Soller Historic train ride.
Palma–Sóller Railway is one of Mallorca’s most iconic and scenic experiences, offering a unique journey from the island’s capital, Palma de Mallorca, to the charming inland village of Sóller.
